Fashionara.com is an online retailer that offers merchandise in the space of fashion and lifestyle.  Their aim is to provide best-in-class shopping experience to end customers by way of stunning visual content, unexpected customer service, constantly building on trust and dependability, and offering best of the premium and luxury brands in the country. Fashionara is founded by Arun Sirdeshmukh and Darpan Munjal, seasoned professionals with expertise in fashion retail and global e-commerce domain. We had a talk with them. Here is what they have to say about Fashionara and Indian ecommerce Industry.

Why Fashionara when there are so many e commerce vendor?
We strongly feel that the market is wide open and the premium segment is untapped.  Fashionara.com is iconic of the advent of e-retail 2.0 in India. This fashion portal offers several features that will shape the future of online retail in India: stunning visual merchandising, true-to-fashion content, relevant product information, and high fashion website communication contribute to an enriched content. We combines creative content with merchandise description.  This helps us in providing a mall-like shopping experience to our customers.

How big is your team?
We are around 50 member team and still counting.
  
Did you receive any funding? if yes, who are all angel investors?
Done with one round of VC funding from Helion and LightSpeedventures
  
How many daily visits and how much conversion?
We are currently receiving between 17k to 20k visits with a conversion rate of 1.5%
  
Are you also doing COD ? if yes, what is the total percentage of the sale and out of which what is the success ratio?
We do offer COD and the current % is about 40% with 80% success ratio.
  
How many vendors/brands Fashionara tied up with?
We are currently tied up with more than 50 brands and are adding to the list.
  
What is your marketing strategy?
We will continue to reach out to wider audience by investing in traditional digital marketing solutions. Also Fashionara.com allows users to shop directly from Facebook and share their shopping experiences with their friends - a first among online fashion retailers in India. The e-retail 2.0 manifest: social shopping.
We are also constantly looking at strategic alliances and partnerships that can help us effectively acquire new customers and service them.
  
What goal have you set up in your mind for Fashionara?
To create a best-in-class online shopping experience while evolving as a premium fashion eMall.
