Bushirt - The Emotional T-Shirts Place

Bushirt.com is a place to lay your hands on the coolest communication device- T-shirts. And if you thought this is another portal for customized T-shirts, think again. We have moved beyond customization; we have moved into a realm where everything is ‘by the people, for the people.’ – This is the mantra of Bushirt, we got from its website. To know more about Bushirt, we had a discussion with Niraj Rampuria, CEO and Founder of Bushirt.com.

What is Bushirt.com and what is the idea behind this?
The concept of Bushirt is simple, "Wear your Emotions". We design Bushirt on emotions of the people as every human goes through millions of emotion in his or her life time. Emotions may be happy, sad, anger, frustration, etc. we tend to make Bushirt on those emotion so that the person wearing those Bushirt can show their side of emotions to their loved one without speaking a single word.

We kept name "Bushirt" as in 80s and 90s t-shirt in the remote place of India was called as Bushirt. These days as we are turning materialistic we end to take emotions taken for granted so by turning T-shirt into Bushirt we wanted to create a device which transmit emotions to the person who wears it and also people around him.

How are you dealing with your competitors catering to same segment?
Quality and Pricing is our two strategy to fight the increasing competition in the segment. Our motto is simple, provide what people want to wear at affordable price with good quality. Also, the type of design we make attracts people to our store as we created emotions and not designs. We help them to wear the emotions and transmit the same to their loved ones.

Did you raise any funding? Are you looking for any funding?
No, its self-funded start up. We are not eager to raise any funding at the moment as we like to grow slowly and steadily by building the brand "Bushirt" in affordable clothing segment.

How are you different ? There are many T-shirt companies doing through crowdsourcing like Teesort.com, Inkfruit.com?
We are not into crowd sourcing model unlike other website, earlier we thought of going this way but restrained our self from getting into rat race. We instead thought of working with designer closely, so that we can come up with creative and out of box emotional design.

How many visitors are coming to your website and what is the conversion rate?
We have around 180 to 200 unique visitors in a day with conversion rate being at 80%. Along with this we have tie up with all the leading e-commerce company for selling of our brand of t-shirt through their platform. T

What is your marketing strategy?
We being a self-funded start up rely heavily on Facebook and Twitter and moreover on word of mouth publicity rather spending to much on Google ad words or online advertisement. Also tying with various other online website help us to increase our visibility in online space. Along with this we have a good presence in offline retail store in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore which increases brand visibility.

Any Technology initiatives are in the pipeline?
As we completed one year of operation, we will be revamping the website with more features and also making it more user friendly.

What  is new coming up in Bushirt.com?
New Emotions, New Bushirts, New Concept in the year to come. One thing for sure, you won’t be disappointed.

How many companies do you serve?
We have tie up 6 online e-commerce website for selling of t-shirt apart from our own online store. We also provide customize t-shirt solution to various school, Colleges and organization across India.
We have a good base of clientele to whom we provide customize t-shirt solution

Where do you see Bushirt.com in next 2-3 years’ time?
Our vision is pretty clear, we want to be a t-shirt brand company catering to Boy, Girls & Kids and provide all type of t-shirt solution at one place.

Alibaba plans direct entry to India. Do Flipkart and Amazon need to worry ?

G ood news for consumers especially for those who are ordering from Alibaba (China) and wait for their products to arrive after 45 days . Many of Indian online consumers order directly from Alibaba as the cost advantage is huge (almost as low as 20% - 30% of the price you get it from Flipkart and Amazon) .  They get their products from Aliexpress (Alibaba logistics arm) after 45 days.
