Buying From SnapDeal : Think Twice

Guys – Snapdeal is a marketplace, they don’t keep inventory[items]. They work on dealer network. SnapDeal is just a broker/transaction portal. Snapdeal lists items on its website and don’t do proper check with their dealers.

Recently, I have encountered with two such incidents. I don’t know if you guys have also experienced the same. My Success Rate with Snapdeal is 0%

Cancellation of Order and Refund takes 7-10 days’ time

I have ordered one laptop and paid upfront, Got a message that it would be dispatched by 11^th Apr 2013. After 2-3 days got a message that dispatch date is 16^th and today got a call that they can’t make it. The money will be refunded in next 7 working days. Order ID : 936845784

Damaged Old Products from Snapdeal Sometimes

We have ordered a cycle from Snapdeal .Order ID : 844060716 (http://www.snapdeal.com/product/everready-exciting-red-cycle/220736?RID=similarsoldout_products_1)

The cycle delivered is quite old, and some plastic stuff like - basket etc is broken. First of all, it got delayed by 2 days what snapdeal has promised. The issue was my son's birthday was on Jan 22, 2013 and I was very disappointed. The colour I order was red but it is pink. Also it had lot of dents in the entire body... paint was also chipping out. Also packaging was pathetic..

So do your research before you buy from any marketplace [those who don’t keep Inventory and believe in Just In Time and Dealer Network].

Alibaba plans direct entry to India. Do Flipkart and Amazon need to worry ?

Snapdeal Goof up Recently, Snapdeal goofs up delivery of Samsung galaxy duo mobile phone. The phone Mr Laxminarayan Krishnamurthy wanted to gift his wife on her birthday. Instead of samsung mobile he has received an old kitchen soap. Imagine a customer reaction. See what he has written on his facebook wall and the post got viral and till now it has got 20,524 shares on Facebook. Imagine how many people the post might have reached. The rough estimates of the reach could be around 40 to 50 lac people. (just an estimate) Nothing much to say about Snapdeal, when you see mouthshut reviews and customer complaints. This is not new. We have earlier faced the similar issue with Snapdeal where they were not able to deliver a printer and in another instance they have sent a defective tricycle for my kid.
